Despite its dominance in search, ads, and the Android market, tech giant Google continues to struggle in the smartphone space, with its devices lagging far behind the competition. Last year, Google’s Pixel faced a major loyalty issue as 57% of users planned to switch to another brand. But the 2025 outlook doesn’t look much more promising, with Google’s market share dwarfed by Apple and Samsung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data presented by Jemlit.com,<\/a> Google’s smartphones remain stuck below a 5% market share in all major markets, seven times smaller than Apple and five times smaller than Samsung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google’s Market Share is Highest in Japan and Canada at 10% and 7%<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Despite its efforts to take some of the market share from Apple and Samsung, Google remains a niche player in the smartphone market, which is quite shocking for a tech giant of its size. Even nine years after debuting the “made by Google” Pixel smartphones, the company still sells just a fraction of the devices that competitors Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi ship year after year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google plans to change that with its 10th generation of Pixel smartphones, the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, launched last month. While these new devices boast a powerful Tensor G5 chip, a MagSafe-like magnet called Pixelsnap, enabling fast wireless Qi2 charging, and AI features built right into the interface, that doesn’t change the fact that Google is still just a fringe player in the smartphone market, far behind most other big names.  The Statista Consumer Insights data show just how big that gap is, and the stats are devastating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
